About: HH Raja Muda of Selangor

His Highness Tengku Amir Shah ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah who was born on 12 December 1990 is the first in line to the throne of Selangor Sultanate. He is the only son and heir to the current Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah. He was born at Pacific Presbyterian Hospital, San Francisco, California as the third child and first son of the then Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Idris Shah.


 His mother, Nur Lisa Idris Abdullah (Lisa Davi before her conversion to Islam), was born in California, United States. As such, he has half American ancestry.On 3 May 2002, aged 11, Tengku Amir was proclaimed Raja Muda of Selangor. He is the youngest Raja Muda in the Selangor Sultanate history.

He received his early education in San Francisco, California and pursued his studies at Alice Smith School, Kuala Lumpur. He attended Wellington College in the United Kingdom in 2004 and graduated in 2009. He pursued his tertiary level studies at University of Leeds, United Kingdom.

He was bestowed Darjah Kebesaran Seri Paduka Mahkota Selangor (SPMS) and Darjah Kebesaran Dato' Setia Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah in conjunction with Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Birthday in 2005 and 2010 respectively.



He was conferred Darjah Kebesaran Mahkota Kelantan Yang Amat Mulia Al-Muhammadi (SPMK) in 2011 by the Sultan of Kelantan, Sultan Muhammad V.

He is a royal patron of a few charitable organisations, including Make-a-wish, Chesire Home and the Raja Muda of Selangor Foundation (Yayasan Raja Muda Selangor).

In 2012, he participated in "The Mount Kinabalu Climb Cheshire-New Challenges". The climb was aimed at raising money to support the projects and services of Selangor Cheshire Home.
